Say YES to Wallpaper
Lately, we have noticed that just the word “wallpaper” makes a lot of people cringe and say “NO WAY”. Well, I know it is hard for some of you to believe, but wallpaper is BACK and has transformed itself into a form of art.
You might not be convinced yet and maybe you are still envisioning your grandma’s floral or printed wallpaper from the 60’s. THAT’S OKAY! Read on and we think you’ll change your mind! :)
Wallpaper captures your style and personality. Wallpaper is one of the easiest ways to add flair, allure, or elegance to a room. A patterned wall can actually make a space feel larger! Choosing the right pattern or solid color paper with a sheen adds drama and depth in the space.
This can be intimidating for some people who don’t exactly know what their style is. When narrowing down which style of wallpaper you want, start with some research to see what patterns draw your attention. If you spend some time searching for inspiration, you will be able to see all the beautiful options that are available in the world of wallpaper!
It doesn’t begin and end with walls! The best part about wallpaper is that you can put it on the ceilings too! We aren’t quite sure what happened over time, but the ceiling has become the most ignored part of modern-day decor. Ceilings in sophisticated interiors used to be highly decorated and even hand painted about a century ago. Let’s bring that back!
The options are endless. Solid colors, large and small scale patterns, textures and sheens provide something for everyone and every space. You might be thinking, “I am just not into the large scale bold patterns that I mostly see with wallpaper”. That’s perfectly fine! With a little inspiration, you will be able to find the wallpaper that reflects you. Textured paper can be very subtle and neutral and lends warmth, depth and comfort to any room. They also add a feeling of luxury in places like living rooms.
So, I bet you are coming around now but still not sure if you want to make the plunge. Our recommendation is to start small.
Start with a powder room! Aside from the fact that we LOVE papered powered rooms, it is also a small space to try it out in without spending too much money. It is great way to feel more reassured that you can move forward with wallpaper in other portions of your home!
